It is hard to hear this morning’s reading and not want to start singing. We know these words as those of the Holden Evening Prayer that we have sung many many times over the years. Of course, these words have been well known as the Magnificat long before Marty Haagen; spoken and sung by many generations in places all over the world. Yet even as familiar as we might be with them, they nevertheless inspire with each new hearing.
