In today’s reading the Old Testament we are in the book of Daniel. This is one of those stories that everybody knows: Daniel in the Lion’s den. Even the youngest kids know this story. We teach them at a very early age, give them a nice image of Daniel in the midst of sleeping lions in the pit. All the while he is being watched over by angels. Of course, we also teach them that he got into the pit because he remained faithful to God. Daniel had a very great faith. Of course, the little kids don’t understand it so much as we adults might, but when it comes to faith Daniel has set the bar really high!
