The calling of everyone who follows after Jesus; who lives in the glory, who chooses the extraordinary way, is to lift up those around us, to join in their struggle for justice and righteousness, to become battered and bruised. Our calling is to speak to the systems of power in this world that deny the universal values of human worth; a safe and affordable place to live where our children and grandchildren can play in the front yard and not worry about gunfire from passing cars, drug sells in the house next door nor where their next meal might come from.
