In many ways we are not unlike Johnn in that what happens in life does not always bear witness to the power of Jesus at work in us nor in the world. We may not be in prison, but the promises Jesus makes in his ministry at times seem very far from the reality of our life. If Jesus came to bring peace and abundance, why does it seem so often that the world feels so disharmonious? Why does the word around us feel like there is so much strife: that the peace of Christ cannot be found. Our lives, as does the lives of others, cry our with lost hope, where O Jesus is your power in this world.
