Now some 2000 years after Jesus, we doubt that we can be with God in that same unity of Spirit as Jesus was. This doubt is the struggle of today’s Christian. And so we live our faith believing that unity will come some day in eternity, or disbelieve unity at all and focus on the problems of this world. Neither of these is the expectation of the one who said, “Follow me.” Jesus promises much more.
