As Christians, faith calls us to give up ourselves so that the powers of this world do not have the last word. Look at the kind of life that Jesus calls us to. Meekness, mercy, peacemaking, these are the way of life for everyone who calls himself or herself a Christian. These are the anti-power characteristics of a life that has chosen to pick up the cross and follow Jesus.
